Water for BF Homes Paranaque

After almost 30 years BF Homes Paranaque will finally have piped water. Residents are going to shell out between P4,000 to P5,000 initially for digging.
Then, another P6,500 for connection fee. And every month thereafter, Maynilad will collect about P300 for piping materials used for service connection, the total cost of which is amortized over 48 months, on top of actual water consumption, which will probably amount to between P600 to P900. Some residents have accepted the arrangement without question, but most residents are asking why they have to pay anything for laying of the service pipes, which is part of the obligations of the franchise holder. The explanation given was the developer has secured a restraining order preventing Maynilad from laying the pipes along the streets of the subdivision that have not yet been turned over to the city. By having the homeowners lay their own pipes, then the developer has to deal with the homeowners themselves. And if anyone wants to know how the homeowners feel about the developer, it is a feeling that shows in a cat and mouse relationship.
